CHARLES W LEGGETTE, EA, FCA, FSPA, MAAA
Charles W. Leggette, President of Leggette, founded the Company in July, 1973. Mr. Leggette received his M.B.A. degree from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas in 1971, and is accredited with the following accomplishments: 1981 President, American Society of Pension Actuaries; Fellow of American Society of Pension Actuaries; Member of American Academy of Actuaries; Member of the Board of Directors and Former Chairman of the Society's Education and Examination Committee; appointed by the Treasury Department to the Joint Board for Enrollment of Actuaries Advisory Committee on Examinations (1979 - 1981). Mr. Leggette has also testified before Congress on Social Security and other pension related matters.
BOB J. BOLIN, FSA, MAAA, EA
Bob Bolin is the Executive Vice President and Chief Actuary of Leggette, and has been with the firm since August 15, 1980. He has a B.A. in Mathematics and graduated with honors from the University of Texas. Mr. Bolin is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary, a former member of the Education and Examination Committee of the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, a Past President of the Actuaries Club of the Southwest and a former Vice President and Actuary of Southland Life Insurance Company.
DAVID HAWKINS, FCA, ASA, MAAA
David Hawkins is a Principal and Actuary for Leggette and a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin with a degree in business management and a minor in actuarial science. He joined Leggette in 2001 after 23 years of actuarial consulting. His areas of expertise include group and individual life and health insurance, employee health and welfare benefits, expert witness testimony, and insurance company merger, acquisition and financial valuation. Mr. Hawkins is a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, an Associate of the Society of Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and the Actuaries Club of the Southwest as well as a licensed actuary in the British Virgin Islands. He has served as Director and President of various trade and lobby organizations as well as presented numerous testimonies on behalf of industry before the Texas Department of Insurance and Texas Legislature. Mr. Hawkins is presently Chairman of the Texas Health Reinsurance System.
DAVID S. PURSIFULL, CWO4 USCG RET
David S. Pursifull is the Vice President and Principal responsible for the Daily Valuation Record Keeping Department. He joined Leggette in September, 1998 with three years of prior pension administration experience and 24 years of active duty service in the United States Coast Guard. In the Coast Guard he served as Aircraft Maintenance Officer at the two largest Coast Guard Air Stations. He holds Associate degrees in Business Administration and Electronic Engineering, a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, and a Masters in Business from Troy State University. Mr. Pursifull is a Member of the American Society of Pension Actuaries (Nov., 2000) and the Plano Chamber of Commerce (May, 1998).
CHERIE SHELTON
Cherie Shelton is Vice President and Director of Flexible Benefits for Leggette. She has an extensive background in providing services for Flexible Benefits Plans, with a bachelor's degree in Applied Economics from Texas Tech University. Her experience includes design, implementation and administration of Flexible Benefits Plans, with an emphasis in corporate design, employee communications and plan administration. She is responsible for consulting and compliance for the firm's Flexible Benefits Plans. Ms. Shelton is a member of Southwest Benefits Society, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Employers Council on Flexible Compensation and National Association of Health Underwriters.
CAREY BROWNLOW, CITP, CPA
Carey Brownlow has been with Leggette for more than 15 years, and currently heads up the IT department as Director of MIS. His background includes plan conversion & administration, complete website/VRS design & implementation, as well as trust accounting and comprehensive systems administration. With degrees in Computer Science and Accounting, Carey offers extensive experience and a broad expertise to all facets of system design & maintenance. In addition, Carey is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Dallas CPA Society.
ROGER RAY, ASA, FCA, MAAA, EA
Roger Ray is a Consulting Actuary in the Retirement Practice of Leggette and has more than thirty (30) years of experience in Actuarial Consulting, Benefits Consulting, and Account Management. Prior to joining Leggette, Roger was a Consulting Actuary and Account Manager for Watson Wyatt and later for Buck Consultants in Dallas. Roger graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics with honors from the University of Texas at Arlington and holds the Master of Arts degree in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries and an Associate of the Society of Actuaries, Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary. He is also a Past President of the Actuaries Club of the Southwest and a member of the Southwest Benefits Association.
